This Council are disgraceful

This South Tyneside Council increased Parking Charges for the Great North Run. Click the LINK to read the story.
It doesnt surprise me one bit.
Shields was once a canny place to go shopping but parking charges everywhere in the Town gradually killed the town. I met a Shields lady a while back & she and her friends do their shopping in Boldon or Jarrow & of course the Metro Centre.
I was parked up at the Metro Centre a few months ago and a couple of visitors were looking for the Parking Meter to buy a ticket. They couldnt believe it when I said 'Its Free Parking here'.

I agree Norman. I won't mention his name but years ago,a traffic warden in Jarrow used to say to me"if you're going in the bank you're on double yellow lines and I'll be back in 20 minutes".Not like his sort today....

Hi Stan I knew that traffic warden that you are talking about - - he was so fair that when he died a lot of us Viking taxi drivers attended his funeral.

Colin he looked like a sergeant major but he was a real gentleman. OK I'll tell you all. His name was Mr.Nelson.
