Your health learn from others

Over that last few weeks many notable people have heath problems published.

Today J Clarkson, two weeks ago A Salmon. Heart problems being over weight probably a big factor.

Today Sir Chris Hoy and others with Cancer. That could be anyone and fitness doesn’t help to prevent.

We had friends the other day who had been in a Cafe and in came a lady on her mobility scooter, a very very big lady.

She bought a big meal and a fancy coffee and then put in 4 lumps of sugar, they were astounded/ shocked.

We all do things we shouldn’t, me too much Chocolate but have cut that way back ( most of the time)

As we are now both into our80’s it’s far far more difficult to stay healthy. A lot down to the COVID and the lockdowns.

As far as we are aware we never had COVID but it we get a touch of it? Lockdown certainly reduced our physical fitness which will be impossible to get back give our age, we can but try.

Now that winter is close you need to take stock of your own health. Some of us oldies are going to suffer because of CUTS!

Not us but what else is the present government going to cook up?

Allan, Its not unusual to see this in restaurants and coffee bars, it absolutely baffles me, I'm surprised there's not an Ambulance waiting outside.

The hardest thing for me is keeping up my stamina and fitness levels I mainly maintain my fitness by working the allotment but I have been feeling aches after a few hours up there. We stop at regular intervals for a cuppa etc. The poor weather this year has meant we've spent less time on the site and that may have something to do with it.I'll be decorating before Christmas so that should keep my fitness levels up hopefully.
would keep me busy and hopefully stay fit and healthy.

Allan, you are correct what you say about trying to stay healthy phisicaly. Personally reading Norman's Forum is good for my mental health,often I'm unable to comment on the subject topic because I'm not familiar with the people or location, but a good read never the less.On a personal note, I finished 10 rounds of chemo at the end of August now have to have some blood work to see what if any further treatment will be recomended.Stay as active as you can my friends. Thank you for letting me listen in.

Hope all goes well. A very close relation and his wife have both had the C in the last 18 or so months and one had Chemo and is looking very good. The other had hormone treatment and it’s worked or working.

In both case probably just caught in time.

I had C in 2007 but got away with it because my bike riding gave me an early warning to seek help. Very lucky again. Just because I had difficulty sitting on my bike saddle, I tried 3 different saddles then to the Doc’s. After a mad dash from mid France.

Reading the papers men seem Pre dominantly get prostrate cancer. They used to say at 50 get checked but are the slightly younger ones being caught.

The ladies breast cancer and it appears that’s not as easy to spot signs.

Regarding us males there are too many over weight men which may cause heart trouble in some form.

I didn’t think that I would have a heart problem but did in 2023 hence 3 stents. A possible warning given in 1992 during a Diving Medical so was careful but still !

One thing that I know the person that can spot possible health problems is yourself. I put that down to the training to be a diver and then an instructor.

Unfortunately a lot of people seem to pass off minor problems but then they turn into big problems.

That was for diving related problems but you learn other bits because of things like a diver can have a heart attack during or after a dive just because of the exertion required.

The biggest problem these days is that it can take nearly 2 weeks to get a doctors appointment.
