It's funny how the news media have been very quiet about Reform party ousting Labour in Wolverhampton on Thursday.

As yet I do not know what was spelt out in the Budget.

Bought two newspapers but not read them other than a quick glance.

Today I will buy a few Sunday papers and read them I think.

Left home on Wednesday and hit the road, do not listen to car radio and not seen TV also poor WiFi.

From the little that I’ve heard the UK will be in hock forever now.

Alan, perhaps you would have been better forgetting your newspapers and enjoying life without thinking of the budget. It seems all doom and gloom at the moment. And the boats with illegal immigrants keep coming.

Sheila people weren't exactly dancing in the street before the election . I said it would be a few years before we see any difference, and it's the same whatever government get in. Looking at governments who are on the way out it seems they leave a mess to the succeeding government and that's happened both ways.

There was a guy on Question Time the other week and he described the political parties perfectly, he said 60 million plus reside in the UK, and the only people we seem to get in government are economic illiterates regardless of political leanings who historically all went for boom and bust politics.

Astonishing isn't it that a country of 340 million + people couldn't do better than the two candidates on the ballot paper!!
You are correct too Brian about Economic illiteracy. With the current bunch add lack of business experience underpinned by a Civil Service with no business experience at all. Hence all the c*** contracts which they draw up!

As Mac said we have political parties and a civil service devoid of business and economic acumen. When we consider the billions wasted over the years it would make common sense to headhunt people with successful track records in business to oversee such negotiations. But then again the words government and common sense rarely go together.

I agree there are many Government Ministers & MPs who have never ran businesses and probably couldnt run one, yet they are allowed to make decisions that cost us Billions like recently (and including the last Government).
No one in the Media has mentioned lying Reeves was only an Admin in a Bank & not what she said she was.
That should be a sacking offence.

There is evidence that Reeves was part of the Bank’s structural economic analysis division in 2005 and in 2001 she was referenced in a speech by the then B 0f E Chief Economist for her contributions.
So care fake news!
But that doesn't mean that I support her. On the contrary I believe her to be useless. For her to make recent decisions without an understanding of the "Economic Chain Consequences" which I was taught as part of my financial education is unbelievable.

Brian, I’m not excluding the shower who were in government in the last few years, but with Labour I’ve been here many years and they always end the same. Tax and spend and l leave the country in a mess. We will just have to sit it out untilI does it again.
