Reyrolles had over 12000 employees & was such a great Company to work for, it's employees spent their lives there. My dad for instance spent 48 yrs there.They were here in Hebburn for around 100 years yet there is nothing in this Town to commemorate this. When he died in 1919 men like Henry Clothier carried on running Reyrolles.

Thanks Norman. Reyrolle made the best switchgear in the world. The L42 gear from 1937? never need replacing. The world started using cheaper switchgear which didn't last, like rusting in a few years. Sad to see the factory close. You could buy anything in there from cheese to ladies tights!

I had the wrong Nicod name so have deleted the photo & added the correct version.

Most of my family worked for Reyrolles at one time or another. So sad to see it all gone now and nothing really to commemorate that it was ever there.
