Ten to Four one afternoon 100 yrs ago in Neville St, before horse drawn taxi's died off. I think that might be board regulars Sheila & Liz on their bikes.

The portico is now fully glazed as it did create a wind tunnel in the station, apart from that and the Centurion Bar, the station is a shadow of what it once was.
By the way a man was hit by a train, he was chuffed to bits.

Although John Dobson is credited with the station which won the design at the Paris Exhibition, it was in fact Thomas Prosser who finished it off after Dobson had a stroke. The station roof over the platforms has the world's first curved girders made by Hawkes and Crayshay of Gateshead. Queen Victoria sayed in the hotel and was sent the bill. Everytime she passed through on her way to Scotland, she pulled the blinds down! Another building with fine history!..
