I'm sure the person they get to replace Gary Lineker will not be on the same money that he was on, over 1m pounds for a job that anybody can do.

Agreed Thomas, they're lining up now to take his place, I'm sure he didn't want to go, but made a rod for his own back and became very unpopular with the general public.

People watch the show for the match highlights, not because of the presenter but the BBC seems to think it’s the other way round so use our money to pay the ludicrous salaries!!

There are lots of knowledgeable football fans in this country who'd love to discuss matches on TV and geta small fee for talking about what they love.
Lineker was so greedy, proved by doing Walkers crisps adverts aswell.

Unfortunately Maureen it isn’t the BBC who are doing the paying it is the likes of you and I who pay our TV Licence fees.

The license fee wouldn’t be so expensive if those in charge didn’t pay stupid money to so called “Stars”.

God only knows how he managed to be paid such a high salary, personally I don’t think he is that good at presenting, playing football he was good and not so full of himself.

To be honest Liz, I’ve never watched him talking about football, but I believe these people have agents to get the best deal , then the agent must get a cut, I assume.

Colin, I would be very surprised if “the good people of Hebburn” were the only ones nationally expressing their views on this matter, which you seem to be implying is little more than sour grapes.

Give it a rest a rest Colin T, Jim G is correct it’s not just the good people of Hebburn who have been complaining about his salary. It’s been his politics. The BBC is supposed to be impartial .

Said at the time I thought Robson Green was a good actor he has done good in his career well done to him.Gary Liniker he would be offered a huge salary to keep him a lot of people like him .

In this Kafkaesque world your humorous post will result in the local Nick being instructed to come and charge you with something for doing something which they aren't allowed to tell you about.
I fell sorry for the ordinary coppers who are sent out to deal with stuff like gender identification crime etc and so called "non-crime-hate-crime". No wonder they are retiring in droves!
The world has truly gone mad to quote "her indoors" (oh dear I might have just demeaned the status of my dear wife and am now in bovver with the law!)

And let’s remember Mac C it was Harriet Herman’s law. She said at the time. “ thank goodness the law was passed just before we lost the election.”. I believe she is now going into the House of Lords, if she is not already there. If someone makes an innocent comment, but a person thinks it’s racist, you could go to jail.
