I heard this stupidity on the lunchtime news, it will make travelling very difficult but going to the US shouldn’t be a problem can’t say the same thing if they came to the UK no doubt our current Government would have them arrested. In the words of a journalist from a ‘bye gone age’ ‘You just couldn’t make it up’!!!!

I support anyone fighting Terrorists, but you have to target them only not kill innocent civilians that happened to be in the way.

A great problem is the Terrorist using the innocent as a human shield.
And in WW2 innocent Germans were killed as we fought to free Europe.
This ICC stuff is a nonsense.

A sad reality of war is unfortunately innocent people get killed, Hamas have nit helped the situation it is because of them that we are currently where we are, such a pity.

Israel, America, Russia , China and lots of Arab States are not members of the ICC. Which makes them not as important as the would like. Of course we follow the rules 100%

I haven't read the article, but have watched the news reports...

So if an arrest warrant is issued for "War Crimes", the leader of a government can be arrested because civilians are killed......

War is NOT that clinical, whereas you only kill combatants....

So where do we start? Ceasar? Wellington, Napoleon? Churchill? Thatcher? Blair...OK, I would arrest that puppy tomorrow!

But you get my point?

A cynic might say that the "dead" Hamas leader was included in order to balance the Netanyahu warrant!
Colin also complains that we all seem to know better than the ICC. I translate that as "I know that the ICC is right and the rest of you are wrong"

His quest is to save his country. A lot of Isreali people will agree with you, but It’s Hamas you should be condemning. They make sure the Palestinian people will suffer. I don’t defend him, but it’s a lot more complicated than you know.

Quite strange really but one of the countries who have brought this ‘charge’ is South Africa, I believe Putin is on the List, Putin visited South Africa I don’t believe that South Africa made any attempt to arrest Putin, all a farce.

This has been going on long before the Hamas attack, Netanyahu will not stop until Palestine doesn't exist. Israel are the invader, not the invaded. Palestine offered them a homeland in 1947 and Israel have abused the fact ever since.

An interesting take on history, Brian.

But I think you'll find that the Palestinians NEVER offered anything in 1947 !! They were against ANY plan which involved giving up any land.

The whole thing of giving Jews their own State was down to the UN, as Britain, who was governing the province at the time, couldn't find a solution.

And I'm struggling to find ANY justification for the Hamas attack on civilians, enjoying a pop concert.

Cold-blooded murder & kidnapping ... hardly justifiable no matter what went before....

They still ended up giving the land, I read land in Africa had also been offered, the Israelis refused everything as they wanted Palestine from the off. The atrocities are not justifiable but they have been committed by both sides, the only innocents are the civilian victims.

Brian, Malcolm is right. The Jews wanted to go back to the land that was once called Isreal and where history tells us once Jewish land. They were offered land in Africa. I wonder what would have happened had they agreed. The British tried to stop the Jews from going to Palestine after WW2, but gave up, as they were all refugees from the horrors of the Nazis. British soldiers died in Palestine trying to stop them. To much history for me to write here, but I will say, after their treatment in WW2 they swore they would never let it happen again. They took barren waste land and turned it into a country where Jews would always be welcome. Who would think Jews would not feel safe in the UK, but sadly it’s now true. Sadly history is often soon forgotten .

I disagree with your take on the history of Palestine Brian. Originally an Ottoman Empire territory the League of Nations handed the hot potato to Britain in 1922 and in 47'the British Protectorate of Palestine effectively created Israel. And at that point we passed the parcel to the UN.
Palestine as a region has always been troublesome.
The PLO which self declared the state of Palestine in the mid 80's was heavily connected to terrorist.
activities via the PLA.
It is still not recognized as a country by the UK and most of Europe and the USA and Canada. Although a majority of countries at the UN do recognise it (Russia does-hardly without controversy for its activities)
I could go on but really just want to say it is a mess.
None of us enjoy seeing the destruction and deaths particularly of the innocents but it is essential to take a balanced view of where the blame lies.
And so far proving impossible to find a solution

Fact “Israel” predates “Palestine.”by a Thousand years, one thing about Palestinian's is that they have been throng out of every country they have tried to settle and made trouble, in 1 991 when Kuwait expelled most of its Palestinian residents, others have been Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, and Egypt would eject them as the Arab brotherhood, even now will have nothing to do with them, Cyprus evicted many PLO/PLA fighters after been throne out of Lebanon by Christian forces. their well liked Colin.

You are describing Hamas, Colin, their hatred of Isreal, thinks it’s ok to kidnap and rape young girls kill and mutilate babies in their cots, but that’s ok because they are Jews. Isreal is fighting to keep their country,. The war is dreadful and all countries should get together to stop it. It’s Iran that is keeping it going. They don’t care about their so called brother Muslims.
