Newtown School just before it was demolished in October 1984.

It doesn't look too bad, but I guess you can't see inside....

This was the school that all of my siblings attended, well, at least 4 out of 7 !!!

I recall looking forward to going along with my big brothers & sisters....

But instead, I went off to the brand new Toner Avenue Junior school...on my own

I went there iInfants and Juniors before going onto Jarrow Central School

Both Dad and I went to the Newtown plus Dad’s sister.

Started off at Bill Quay School in 1945, then Hebburn Newtown and then Hebburn Quay before moving on to Clegwell in 1951.
