In 1970 a lad called Panika ? Started in our design office and he had a Triumph Herald, he was stopped one day by the Police, don’t know why.

They examined the car and found that he had tied up the front suspension with ROPE.

Never found out the whys and wherefores of that.

The guy driving the lorry chassis was once a common sight on our roads.
That's how lorries were delivered back in the 1950's.
Mind our delivery drivers wore a few more clothes than that guy.

My work to me to Chorley and Leyland during the 1960s Cabless chassis were frequent sights on the M6 in those days, As Llyn has said, that is how lorries etc were delivered.

I remember seeing chassis being driven. I think it was a group of 3 or 4. Probably heading North on the A1.

It was not that long ago, less than 20 years possibly when we were heading down to cross the channel.

I think they were for buses as long. From memory they were for the Routemaster buses type.

However my memory as to years could be way off.
