Anyone got any idea why it was called ‘Comical Corner’ an unusual name .

Ive heard of two explanations for the name.
1- Commercial Corner spelled wrongly.

2. Close to that area was a bend on the river & Sailing Ships sometimes struggled to get berthed and it was sometimes comical watching them struggling.

It's no.2 according to the information board near there.
I posted a photo on the board a few months ago.
