Just might get out in car today, first time in 12 days

Collected a meal delivery at our drive entrance last night and the drive had over an inch of ice on it.
Overnight the remains of the 10” of snow going except the drifts.
It’s been too dangerous to go any further than the bins and that only because you have too.
The dose of Flu that I had started to clear 4 days ago.
The forecast is for more snow around the 26th Jan. hope not.
Have to restock with food as only 4 days main meals left in the freezer.
Thank goodness the families two Defenders could just go. They are brilliant cars in snow. Allan C..

Not been able to get any as not able to get out and too ill to shift any snow by hand even if I could have.
Would have needed 4 bags and pointless anyway the road outside never gritted. My cars tyres not the right type for heavy snow.
We are a bit high up on the edge of the Dales and if snow best to stay in. It’s a mile climb up to the A59 and the road up gets drifts.
Salt would be no good anyway as gravel drive and yard.
In winter stock up for snow problem anyway, it’s not worth the risk of damaging the car unless emergency but then the Defenders come into play.
Things may have been different If I had not caught the Flu but even then why take the risk of a prang.
Just looked out onto the road outside and field opposite . Vast change from last night nearly all the snow and ice gone. There was at least an inch of ice and 6” snow GONE overnight.
The beck at the bottom over the garden must be wild. York is going to be flooded big time.
Going out to check car cooling system for damage and final digging out of the car.
