Teenage knife crime

This appears to be a regular thing nowadays. However not all kids are bad but one way to lessen it is to install metal detection door frames in schools. It works in prisons. I know not all kids are bad but having this in schools will definitely reduce the chances of a death. When Roy Jenkins was Home Secretary, he abolished the birch and unknown to a lot of people, his reason was that his nephew was about to get a taste of it. I also recall a lad from Hebburn who actually got it and as he said, it ensured you didn't want a repeat. So regarding teenage knife crime, why not install these loops in schools which will ensure the safety of our loved ones...

Stan, 90% of Knife crimes are carried out away from schools, but I agree with your solution.

Roy Jenkins, the Labour reformer, what he decided as Home Secretary, is why we are where we are today. Abolished hanging and the birch, brought in suspended sentences and Parole Boards. Just some of his changes as Home Secretary. Perhaps abolishing the birch was correct, but a lot of what he did destroyed law and order.

I agree with you both but the police should have more powers as these knife wielding rats don't care and fear nothing. As for not being named for legal reasons it's a joke. The death penalty should be appropriate regardless of age. Someone needs to show the scumbags who's boss...

Stan, Keir Starmer is boss at the moment with a very large majority in Parliament. As he was a Human Rights lawyer, I don’t he will do anything. It seems it’s only the rights of the villains that count, not the victims.

Whenever I listen to radio or TV broadcasts I can hear interviewees spouting out about this and that, they are professional talkers who DO exactly nothing. It is about time that someone got a grip and actually physically did something about all these problems about knife crime etc. To HELL with human rights laws, in my opinion if a crime is committed then human rights should be forfeited.

Totally agree with you Tom.

When a crime is committed, only the victim should have any rights.

The perpetrator should have NO rights, apart from a right to a FAIR trial...

And THEN hang them!!!

Couldn’t agree with you more, we are far too soft on the perpetrator in this country about time there was a clear out in the judiciary.

The daft thing is, Liz, I'm guessing that most of these "Judges" are of OUR era, born in the 50's, maybe early 60's?

Who surely would have the same common sense, or sense of Justice, that I see posted on this board...

Or are their hands tied by that "Human Rights" hogwash??

The whole system needs to be overhauled, and sorted out, but I don't see ANY politician with the intelligence or drive to do it...

We need another Churchill or Thatcher....

Maybe bring in the Army, I do believe that the Army was ready to take ‘control’ when Wilson was in power!!!

Even if these law breakers get sentenced they seem to have a nice time in jail, I heard on the news the other day that drones bring in takeaways, drugs etc, if the authorities know about this why don’t they have the devices that are able to detect the drones before the packages are delivered?

Malcolm, the 1960’s started the decline and most of our judges now are liberal left wing. One or two show sense, but the are usual appealed by the appeals judges.

In a lot of prisons, wires are suspended like washing lines criss crossed with ballcocks to show them every few feet to stop drones and helicopters.
