Telephone recorded announcements

Do no Companies or Businesses employ staff to answer phones nowadays, whoever you ring now you tend to get a recorded announcement to go on line or press button *.

For example yesterday I needed to speak to The Tyne and Wear Pension Scheme office, press button *, Your call will be answered in approximately 20 minutes, 40 minutes later gave up as a bad job and a waste of my time, absolutely useless !

Easy answer WFH nobody there.

There's certain times that you cannot get through with these organisations, I would be tempted to try late afternoon in the middle of the week, alternatively could you email them

Tried emailing the Pension people, two responses which assume everyone is a computer expert !
