Pensioner winter fuel allowance.

Now we read Starmer can afford to give 1.6 billion to Zelensky to buy 5,000 ground to air missions. Stopping the winter fuel allowance was pure spite on old people. Nothing to do with not being able to afford it.

We Brits are stuck with the most useless disgraceful Government.

They havent got a clue how to run the country and are slowly wrecking our once good reputation aswell as bankrupting us.
Surely those who voted for them, regret it?

I wholly agree about the Pensioner debacle and the cost of this "loan" to Ukraine is dwarfed by the Chagos Islands give away that is going to cost many billions for no purpose.
We must deal with our security and the Ukraine support is part of that. So aid Ukraine, cancel Chagos and cough up for the needy pensioners seems the way forward.

PS Norman. The performance of this government is dreadful. Bodily function in brewing establishment comes to mind!!!

This Government have been a total disgrace since day 1, hope the people who voted them in feel very proud, especially if they have elderly parents or grandparents suffering the cold !

Sounds to me that the UK needs a good dose of President Trump and Elon Musk. Borders here have been shut down to illegal migration, murderers and rapists are being hunted down and sent back to where they came from, the other illegals are told to register and they will be sent back and be in line for legal immigration in the future or face jail if they don’t. The federal government is not sending money to states that harbor these people so taxpayers in those states are not happy with their leaders as these illegals get housing, food, phones etc for free.
Elon’s team is auditing the whole government bureaucracy and finding billions of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse. I wonder how much of this could be found in the UK as I’ve seen posts on this site bemoaning spending by your politicians. Invite Elon over when he’s finished here and maybe he’ll take you up on your offer. Oh, I forgot, you would need leaders that care about your country and its people.

Bill, just before reading your post, I read from Sky News, that we had another 592 illegal immigrants in 11 boats arrive here from France yesterday, escorted by RNLI lifeboats. Another hotel ready for them, plus mobile phones and cash each week. It’s all very worrying.

FIVE HUNDRED and NINETY TWO (592) Illegal Invaders successfully came from France into England yesterday 2nd March.
Remember how this useless Goverment criticised the last Government for not stopping the invaders (who are mostly fighting age men).
We need a tough Leader who loves his country plus someone clever like Mr Musk to go after the fraudsters milking the system and taking brown envelopes.

This Government seem to have money for everyone except the British Tax Payers, the country is going to the dogs, we don’t have money to fix the increasingly bad road surfaces, keep the elderly warm and fed, so many other issues but, we do however have money to pay for shrimp farms in far away places, the Maldives, I could go on.

I know we have to fund Ukraine as we need to protect ourselves from Putin, but I sincerely hope that America will not be the only recipient of mineral wealth that Ukraine seems to have, many countries are helping Ukraine, I just hope the money is being spent wisely. I understand that the latest injection of funds are for drones that are going to be built in Northern Ireland.

Mac C, you are correct , I was hoping the Chagos Island debacle would be cancelled. I’m still not sure Zelensky is whiter than White.
