Ending the war in Ukraine

For those who have comments about President Trump, I have no problem as good or bad can apply to any politician.
If I had magic powers within me I would like to make you the Prime Minister for the day.
Now that you are Prime Minister, please explain to me how you would end the war.

Excuse my lack of knowledge on World Politics, but I'd like to know why have we always treated Russia as an enemy? They have always been excluded from 'our little club' ie NATO.
It's no wonder we've turned them into an enemy.
If I was PM Bill Wallace out there in America, I would hold talks face to face with Putin. 'jaw jaw is better than war war'.
Look at the £billions we'd save if we were all friends.

After the Berlin Wall came down, two Russian politicians, Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, wanted a new friendship with America, but as I remember some American politicians were not trusting. Putin wanted to make his country strong again and he was also ex KGB. When he came to power, it all changed again.

Norman, near the end of WW2, Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt, had a meeting at Yalta. They agreed what would happen after the war. Some said it was carving up Europe . People were desperate to move from the areas Stalin was taking. It was in 1946 Churchill made his speech about an iron curtain coming down dividing east and west. The communists are back in power. I won’t bore you with the horrors that it caused, but it was at that time that a ship with hundreds of Jewish people on board sailed to Palestine, the beginning of the fight to establish Isreal.
