Bellis Pirennis

Less valued than more showy cousins
In pastures,scattered by the dozens
Heralds of spring and brighter days
Mimicking sunshine’s golden days

Peruse them closely,stop and stare
Though common is their name
How can this be,if they are rare
We seem to see them everywhere

Rare, because of the joy they bring
Simple pleasures make hearts sing
Say l am foolish,call me crazy
I’m smitten by the common daisy

Should have read golden rays
Must try harder !
I got the idea for this poem
Waiting at a bus stop.The grass verge
was sprinkled with them.I had never
realised their attraction before

John, probably a bit late for this year but next year do take a look at the snowdrops, despite the fact that they look the same there are lots of different varieties, you might be able to come up with a verse or two, like the poems.
