The Benefits System

It appears that there are going to be changes and it’s being reinforced that our State Pension is a Benefit.
So expect anything!
This changing of age when you can draw a state pension may go higher.
I just don’t see that raising it to say 70 will do any good.
I lost my well paid job ( sort of well paid) in 1993 at 50 years of age. Managed to keep head above water for the next 10 years finally retired in 2003.
That due to great help from Family. Could I have managed without their help? Very probably at very adaptable and we had looked after our finances.
Depending on your qualifications etc. I would assume that once you reach 60 you are maybe past it physically etc. certainly physical work may well be getting too hard.
Each person will be different but to me 65 was the right retirement age.
My job I suppose disappeared as the number of companies in my trade reduced and became more computerised. I would not have kept up with the changes in use of computers me being out of date.
