Unusual Headstone

I hope this doesn’t upset anyone but whilst visiting my daughter’s grave this morning in Hebburn Cemetery I noticed an unusual heading on a nearby headstone. It was with regards to a child, Paul Cagg, Killed 28 April 1954 aged 2 years, 8 months.The word killed indicates it was not a normal death, wonder if the poor child was murdered ? Anyone on this board know any more ? RIP Paul and apologies if I have upset anyone.p

Mac won't be one of the little lads drowned at the lakes that was 1956.Another little lad I remember whos uncle dropped him on to the fireplace he was killed it was his fifth birthday the little lad lived of one of the streets of Argyle St That would be around 1962 i can remember it as l was hairdressing on Argyle st and his mam had had her hair done that morning tragedy.

I feel someone on the board will remember it uncle playing with him .Remember his poor mam like yesterday .

Maria, a devastating saddens for someone , but it was not the name of any of the little boys who drowned in the lakes together. I remember two surnames were Johnson and Hogg, Symonds might have been the third but can’t remember the fourth name.

Lakes tragedy was 1956 later than headstone Mac saw Sheila.

Maria, as you correctly said, it was 1956. I also remember a little boy dying, uncle was playing and dropped him. That was near Finchale Road. I remember his Mum she was a few years older than me. I don’t think I should say her name. It was a dreadful accident.

Sheila along time ago found in the evening chronicle pages old news came across story there was a lady I remember came into the shop hairdressers she had went to the House upset birthday cards on mantlel piece have got Dunston st where house was .

Maria, I just remember she live behind Finchale Road, perhaps they were visiting Dunston Street. I know she had three boys. I seem to remember he hit his head on the corner of the table as his uncle accidentally dropped him. . Perhaps it was a different tragedy.

Think Sheila there is a connection.I thought maybe they moved to Fincall road after the tragedy .Whatever so very sad always remembered what happened there was other children poor mam and dad

Bearing in mind the child was only 2 years and 8 months old it’s unlikely he would be out by himself, whatever happened it as a tragedy.
