Serious accident in Newcastle

Has anyone heard any more news about the accident in Newcastle. Four Police cars look very badly damaged. I hope there are no serious injuries. The news say involved with a BMW.

Apparently the Police were chasing a black BMW and a black Volvo, 4 police cars involved, road closed until late afternoon, absolute chaos in and around Gateshead/Newcastle. Looking at the police vehicles I doubt they will be back on the road again.

Some reports say drugs involved but who knows to early to speculate.

It looks as if it’s just past B&Q on the right going North after you cross the river.

They'l get a written warning, £100 fine and, a years driving ban, passengers let off, not enough evidence, no prob's they will be back selling the drugs again tomorrow.

Air Ambulance was involved so we are talking serious injuries.

Police statement said there was no fatalities and two arrests.

I hope none of the officers were badly injured. Bad enough that they have any injuries never mind the trauma of the incident.
The Northumbria Roads Policing Unit were featured on TV last year & having watched the series I feel almost as though I “know” them.
Sending my best wishes to them & their colleagues.

The photos in the press appear to indicate that the damaged police cars were hit by other police cars. The grey BMW looks untouched. Or have I misinterpreted somehow?

I read one report that said the police cars had tried to ‘box in’ the black BMW, this was unsuccessful, apparently the black Volvo was an unmarked police car.
