I am Bob, one of sixteen siblings that were born WW2 time through into the 1950s.
At a family get together last week my sister mentioned 'these days we have the Internet, TV, Radio,Mobile phones etc so we can never get bored'. My brother said 'aye we are spoilt compared to Ma & Da's day and I often wonder what they did for entertainment'.
Everyone shook there heads and said 'no idea'

I remember when I was a young kid my mam would say about a big family "they mustn't have a telly." It wasn't until years later that I realised what she meant!

I'm one of eight...from the same era, and there was a family of sixteen just round the corner from us...

Did you live on Johnstone Avenue, or Toner Avenue, in the early 1960's by any chance?
