Weekend Header looking towards Hebburn from above Jarrow Park

As usual I have added all the information on the photo. This 1946 photo may have been on my board previously but because we have new visitors that will not have seen it why worry

It's amazing how it has changed since then.

Thank You Allan. Appreciated.
With the helpful location of Windermere Cres to the right I can now see that the shot was taken from above Adair Way looking south.....a road which didnt exist in my time!
That helped me identify the Fire/Ambulance building in the far distance (another that post dates me)

I can’t remember the name but the few houses in the very bottom right corner I’m fairly sure are on the street that led to the footbridge over the railway line & into the park.
I think the photo would have been taken from the Jarrow side of the crossing on Victoria Road (different name in Jarrow?)

Would Windermere Crescent be on that photo? I thought that estate wasn’t built till the 50s. I’ve just noticed the street I mentioned on the bottom right is Redhouse Road. Are we looking at the same street?

Hi Bob,
The old B&W aerial view was taken long before Windermere Cres estate was built early 1950s.
Ian Turnbull's recent colour photo shows the back gardens of Windermere Cres that were just 50 yds from the long side of the slag heap that stretched from Bedes well area to the cut through to Monkton Village in the 1950s.
The back gardens of my old mates David Thackeray at 64, Lawrence Morton at 68 & Peter Kirtley at 74 Windermere are all on that photo.
