Nostalgia-Boom Radio/Gold

Re the thread below about people like Cochrane/Holly etc it is one on the reasons why my car radio has Boom Radio and Gold as favorites.
And if I want to listen to something specific at home Spotify is always there.
But those of us of a certain age who havent a clue about Swift/Ora and a host of rappers must bear in mind that we werent too keen on Gracie Fields/ Billy Cotton/Henry Hall etc and many more of the pre rock days.

We have Boom programmed in both our cars, unfortunately we can’t get Boom at home, but since Maria mentioned Channel 71 on Freeview we have been listening, we have, on occasion, sinc3our return from holiday listened to a German radio station playing only 60’s music, hardly any adverts so very good.

If you have a smart tv you can listen to Boom by visiting the Radio Player App where you will find the link.
Or if you have Alexa that is another possibility.

We do have Smart Tv in our library but we have a B & O TV in our living room it is not a Smart TV, we are reluctant to change it as it has the most amazing picture and sound, down to very good B & O speakers. Apparently B & O together worth Loewe have some gadget that makes the B & O Tv into a Smart TV but as we do have a Smart Tv we just haven’t bothered changing, anyway to be honest TV viewing is not what it used to be.

I remember speaking to my friend on the phone and asking her if she has a Smart TV, I heard her ask her husband and his reply was “ well it’s smarter than me”. 😀

If you struggle to work your TV (smart or not) enlist the aid of a 4 year old. They will sort it for you,.

I listen to it at the allotment I have a rechargeable Bluetooth speaker and I listen to it via my phone.

We may not have all likes Fields, Cotton and Hall etc.. But at least they didn't drop an F bomb with every second word.
