John Shearer

I've just recently lost a good friend and a true Hebburn gentleman. We met with Davey Hebson at the Iona. Had a great time reminiscing about our youth, Reyrolles, the shipyards, motorbikes, Jessie Ives, He was a good Bopper. It was a magical evening. We laughed the night away. He was a cool affable Board member (so positive). True Hebburn lads forever. Hope you are smiling down on us, John. You will always be remembered. RIP

Totally agree Gerry. We have lost a valuable board regular who never said a wrong word and was always well liked. It's hard to believe he passed away so soon after posting on the board and emailing his old friend in Oz. He told his friend he is getting a Pacemaker to regulate his heart but doesnt really need one. His sister laughed when I told her that. She said 'thats John alright'.He died probably hours after saying that. RIP John.

Never met, or knew John, but always respected his posts, always intelligent, and respectful.
Sorry for your loss, Gerry. And a great loss to us all, as well as his family, obviously...
