The children file Into the school hall Take their place without delay Well dressed,fresh faced,brightly shining Voices raised in glad array Anxious teachers,tense and wary Pray nothing mars this joyful day While high pitched voices show conviction And sing out loud with perfect diction
Smiling faces beam delight As successive notes take flight While gestures made with perfect timing Enhance the words, and suit the rhyming Mums and grandads,dads and nans All of them devoted fans Determined not to miss the boat And with a lump in every throat
Applause all round, the show is ended Hugs for each and every one Staff and children all commended Each one a star that brightly shone
