I wonder if we will be told how these Iranian terrorists arrived into the UK, I think the answer will be NO, I would like to bet that there are loads of terrorist cells living in the UK just waiting for the opportunity to strike.
A lot of Iranian (Persian) people are basically like prisoners in their own country ie oppose the regime & be killed. Iran was Westernised until the Shah was deposed & the revolutionary religious leader Ayatollah Khomeini took over and turned Iran into an Islamic State. Women that once wore western clothing suddenly had to hide under Islamic clothing. I think the Iranian's arrested here in the UK with terrorism charges could be part of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard sent specially to seek out Iranians that came here to live.

Norman, Iran was very western and all done with American money, they needed his oil. The Shah moved Persia/iran to a modern western country, but the revolutionary Muslims hated it. Jimmy Carter was President of America at the time but he withdrew his support for the Shah. His account sounds so sad , as he could not understand why America would not help and support him , as he had done everything they asked for always. He was at the time suffering from incurable cancer. As he needed to leave Iran, he thought he would travel with his wife and family to America for cancer treatment , but Jimmy Carter would not allow it. Ayatollah Khomeini had taken American hostages. They were not freed until the new American President Reagan took office. America are fair weather friends.
