May 5th VE Celebration in London

London never looked so pristine for yesterday's ceremonial marches and speeches. The bands were wonderful and Timothy Spall gave a great offering as Churchill. However, perhaps it's just me, but I never expected to see a group of Ukrainian soldiers goose-stepping down The Mall.

I agree George, London parades were super's yesterday. I did wonder who the young men were with the Ukrainian flag. I didn’t know it was goose-stepping. I did comment to my husband, I wonder who they were. It was comical and a little embarrassing.

I wonder if Putin thought for a moment that had things been different Russia could have taken part in yesterday’s parade??

As they trooped their colour they Goose Stepped as their army does but reverted to "ordinary step" after they passed the King.
I was delighted that they were there and didnt find it strange at all.

What I seen certainly wasn't goose stepping, there country's at war with a country just as evil as Germany was, they had every right to be there, why any one could think it strange is beyond me.

Joseph , I didn’t know was goose stepping is, but they did look odd. I was pleased to see Ukrainian young men in uniform instead of the hundreds who have deserted and are now looked after as illegal immigrants.

I think it was strange because in WW2 the German's had a Waffen SS Brigade made up with Ukraine Volunteers.

Love these photos but had to laugh at the Station Road one even a street party didn’t interfere with washing day x
