Norman, I think all politicians from any country, leave politics richer than when they first elected. I imagine he was well paid for the time he worked in the UK.

He never did any favours for the UK, such a bad choice, the current incumbent is no better.

Just watched his visit with US Presedent Trump. Friendlier visit than President Zelenski BUT he looked uncomfortable and there was very little dialogue between the two while on camera.

Back to the Mark Carney thread. He is very intelligent person, extremely well educated, having been at Oxford and Harvard. He is a top economist, saved Canada early from the last big recession, where other countries suffered much longer. He knows the banking and tax regulations extremely well enough to know where to bank his money with the least impact in terms of the amount of taxes to be paid. I would do the same as him if I had that much money, wouldn't you?
He may not have been your choice for the central bank in England, However, I am happy he is back in Canada.
He appeared calm when meeting Trump, that is what is needed.

You and Canada are welcome to him. He only made himself richer here. While being paid by the tax payers, he told the public not to vote Brexit, which was none of his business.

Glad that Canada are pleased with Carney, as has been said he was not good for the UK, as Sheila has pointed out Brexit had absolutely nothing to do with him he should have kept his comments to himself, it should be said that he wasn’t the only Politician from that side of the world giving advice on Brexit but, Obama was following instruction from David Cameron.

One further thing, in today’s newspapers Carney is now questioning that State Visit given to Donald Trump, again something that has nothing to do with him he should take care of Canada’s affairs and not concern himself the the UK.

Mark Carney had a role to provide the public as to the effect Brexit would have on the UK economy.
