Postcard photo dated (posted) 28th December 1910 showing Sir Francis passing the Swing Bridge with the tug Triton leading. Sir Francis was built by S.P. Austin & Son, Wear Dock and was launched on the 25th May 1910. Sir Francis was torpedoed and sunk by UB-21 on the 7th June 1917 some 2 miles NE of Scarborough with the loss of 10 of her crew. The tug Triton was built in 1883 and broken up in 1930.

Nice photo Peter, thank you, that little tug had a good life span of hard work. Probably goes to show you even humans should keep the old body moving for long levity.
