Strawberries for Liz

This is the first real pick from the patch. To give you some idea of the size of the fruit, this is my 12 inch fruit collecting bowl.
They're super sweet.

They look wonderful Brian, you can’t beat fresh picked fruit, yesterday we bought some from a local producer just outside of Hereford, , they were OK but I wouldn’t say they were the best. We drove home via the local cherry farm just to look, no news yet as to when they will open with this years crop, the season only lasts 3 to 4 weeks, last years crop weren’t that good hope this years will be better, mind you we did find a grower in Shropshire their cherries were excellent.

Just as a matter of interest how many lbs do you think you will be picking?

I think the patch will produce around 18-20lbs minimum ,that bowl of strawberries weighed just under 2.75 lbs.
