Winter Fuel Payment

I see the Nerds in Downing Street are at last listening to the public, I don’t think so. The cabinet are frightened of their own back-benchers resigning and joining the Reform Party or Independence Party. No government party ever listens to the public.

I believe you are correct Thomas. What has scared them is how popular the Reform Party is. If Nigel was not winning votes, there would be no change in the winter fuel payment for pensioners.

Correct Sheila, the Government are running scared, they think the voting public will forget what they did within a few weeks of getting into Office, personally I don’t think they will.

There is still talk of means testing the State Pension, constant attack on OAPs.

Marie, that sounds good news for all the people who have made their home in Durham Court. It is central for transport for people who don’t use a car. My late friend turned down a new bungalow, to stay in her flat in Durham Court. She suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and living more central was easier for doctors etc.

I agree with you Maria. I know some Tenants have spent a lot of money on their flat. It would be awful for them to have to leave their home.

Maria, it’s quite easy to post a new thread, I could never post newspaper articles until Norman guided me via an email, now I think I am quite good!!!

Maria not everyone is good with todays technology. I always remember when I was working in Filtrona on the factory floor I was asked if I would like to work in the wharehouse office, my answer yes. Not long being in the office I got working on the computer and thought I'm never going to get the hang of it. After a while I loved it and the error's were getting less. That was about 30 years ago. So my motto never give up.
