Temperature in Oxfordshire today.

Today the temperature here was 33 centigrade. I’ve never been a sun worshipper, but the weekend was dreadful and today had been the hottest. If I was younger I would relocate to the top of Scotland. We have had all the curtains and blinds closed and we are still melting. Hope fellow contributors to Hebburn site are all ok.

Sheila, it has been the same in Herefordshire, we have curtains and blinds closed, we now have a fairly effective fan going but it is still extremely hot, tonight scheduled to be over 20 degrees, nightmare.

The week before last for twelve days without a cloud we consistently had 32 to 36 in Turi, Puglia and one day it topped out at 39 ((more than 100 in old money!)
Yes sure that last one was hot,hot,hot and we just sat on the balcony or in the shade in the garden. I think I only drove as far as the local Lidl (1 mile)
But my reason for posting is to reflect that the heat there is much drier and therefore bearable. In the UK we are afflicted by humidity. Tonight in Derbyshire I am wringing and I bet it is currently less than 27.!!
My NE friends tell me it is cooler North of the Tyne.

And on the west coast of Scotland, we're around 19 degrees today, but "close" as we used to say, a light drizzle stared about an hour ago, might make it a cooler night...

But hey, It's Summer!!!

I knew we should have moved to Scotland Malcolm , I envy you your cooler day. I was a McKenzie, before a Craig, it’s in my genes. 😀

I'm sure glad that I moved up here, Sheila.

Yes, a bit cooler (around 20 degrees) the past few days, but, of course, there is the other side..

Longer daylight, in summer..

But shorter daylight in winter..

And, at times, all four seasons in the same day..

But as they say up here, there's no such thing as bad weather.....

Just WRONG clothing !!!!
