remember Ellison St with Info added ?

I have just taken this photo half an hour ago, to show how Ellison St has changed.

My maternal grandmother lived at 158 Ellison Street in the 1960s and my parents briefly lived with her before I was born. I imagine the house they lived in was different from the one there now though!

Hi Andrew,
first of all, those houses on that photo I took today are modern.
158 Ellison St was at the top end of the long street. Here is a photo just yards from 158 sadly not in the photo across from the church.
That door on the corner of Ellison St-Cuthbert St is 154. Out of site is 156 & then 158.

I remember many times running down that hill to beat the 7,30 buzzer or lose 15 minuets, in rain hail or shine.

I was born in a house on the corner of Ellison Street and Church Street, we later lived in a house overlooking Hawthornes top gate and later into 6 Ellison Street, our first house when we got married was 2 St. Andrews Street, just outside the top gate and rent was 12/6 a week.
