For Peter Cook your photo of 19th July 4 army chaps

Peter.

The 2 chaps one on the left and the other on the right are Northumberland Fusiliers. Note the collar badges, the one on the left probably a senior bandsman, note his strips and he has two shoulder pieces. Some would have had only one and gained another for XYZ.

The chap at the back in in dress uniform of the Horse Artillery. Don’t know which unit.

He would be on the left horse of a three pairs of horses pulling a gun and its carriage.

The office is in an undress uniform probably Horse Artillery.

The officer and the chap behind him probably the same unit.

I think the photo is from around 1902. As that’s about the time that studio was operating.

I see that it or another copy was for sale or sold on eBay for £29.99.

Why was the photo taken and who are these men.

Just look at the mens faces. They are either brothers or very close cousins.

Why take the photo? Maybe it was a rare chance of Tyneside chaps to get together, A wedding or something.

To get those chaps together would be difficult at anytime but after 1914 ? Impossible? Did they survive WW1.

I watched a film of the Royal Horse Artillery on U tube the other day, very similar uniforms.

In that film the majority of the horse riders were young ladies and that was for all 5 guns. Thought it odd but they are lighter than men so easier for the horses. The men troopers could have been away doing other things ?

I’m recovering from an illness probably brought on by a possible heart attack three weeks before Easter and a cock up with medication, a very stressful period. I think I threw a wobbly but don’t remember.

I did see that John Shearer died, not a lot of the old member’s left.

In hospital they could not find anything, I had delayed too long in getting to A&E. Had to get son in law to take me as long way out for an ambulance. Probably me being pig headed “ I know best” silly me.

I was told that it would take 5 weeks to analyse my data. They gave me some tables to take.

I think that these tablets reacted with others or I picked up something in hospital.

Muzzy head loss of balance when walking etc. just yuk. At one stage I thought that XY Z but pulled out ok.

Added to that things went wonky at home giving stress and my granddaughter was in India playing cricket and there was a gunfight or something in what I thought was where she was.

That put my stress level OTT and I think I threw a wobbly.

I have only started to pull out of it all in the last 2 weeks aided by being up un Northumberland watching the Sea at Seahouses.

Try to get to see a doctor, now we have to fill in a form online and it will be assessed and someone will get back.

I am functioning OK as long as it’s not stressful but improving not so flapable these last 5-6 days.

I’m definitely on the mend. Just hope it continues.

Going away in the Caravan on Saturday to guess where ?Northumberland, Seahouses. We have had 3 trips away in the c/van very good for recovery.

I wonder what my problem was all about. I have a feeling that although I did not have COVID maybe the jabs had an adverse effect as has been mentioned in the press. The timescale sort of fits. OK for a few months then way down and then up again.

Resistance to viral infections U/S? Don’t know.

Whatever it was over the last few months it knocked me way back, even not going out on the bike unless I forced myself to ride and on the bike things tend to disappear, probably should not have touched riding as my balance rubbish. Could not walk the white line!

I shall never know as getting to a doctor hopeless and could not explain anyway.
