Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton.

Ahmad Mulakhil faces two rape charges, while Mohammad Kabir is accused of kidnap, strangulation and aiding and abetting the rape of a girl aged under 13.

Warwickshire County Council leader George Finch has alleged the two men were asylum seekers, which the BBC has been unable to verify independently, and accused Warwickshire Police and the Home Office of covering up their immigration status.

Police refused to disclose further details, saying: "Once someone is charged with an offence, we follow national guidance. This guidance does not include sharing ethnicity or immigration status."

In a statement to the BBC the Home Office said: "Foreign nationals who commit crimes should be in no doubt that the law will be enforced and justice delivered."

Mr Mulakhil, 23, appeared before magistrates in Coventry on 28 July, with Mr Kabir, also aged 23, appearing before magistrates on Saturday.

The pair, both from the Warwickshire town, will next appear at Warwick Crown Court on 26 August.

It has been reported but not officially confirmed that they are Afghan nationals.

The Police are trying to keep it quiet., but difficult when the press hear rumours. It’s a very worrying situation.

Farage has been asking for this information to be made public since the crimes were committed but, of course, it is always deemed that we, the Public, should be kept in the dark.

This RAPE case was on the News last night.
The Police when reporting the scum were not required to say what nationality they were so they didnt incase it causes racial hatred.
If they had been white guys though, then that would have been mentioned immediately.

Stupid Mrs Balls thinks that to spend £100 million of our money will smash the gangs. Even if that happened there is still a great number of illegals already here who should be removed. If we are seen to do this the gangs will be left with nowhere to send any more and at probably much less cost than £100m. Problem solved but no one has the balls to do it we cannot wait for Starmer to spring into action as he is so inept. I once heard him say on television that you've got to listen to the people, it's about time he did that, just ignore the ECHR and do it.

WELL SAID TOM,
I feel exactly the same as you.
Its hard to believe how stupid & inept this Government is.
As Ive said before, tell the Military that we need them to start protecting our borders. Thousands of fighting age unknown militant foreigners have flooded here and the Government havent realised how suspicious it is?
It will be difficult but we need to Start deporting. We dont need more Deliveroo workers .

Today I read a lady saying her granddaughter rented a house in Hampshire over a year ago. Was settled and really making it her home. She has had a letter from her Landlord telling her she must vacate by October. The local council are renting it on a five year contract with better rent payments, so the property can be used to house asylum seekers instead of putting them in Hotels. It seems very unfair, but also will mean our council tax will be used and that saves the government costly Hotels for them. No wonder they will let the councils charge a higher local tax next year.
