That shop is called 'Mitchell's'.
The building on the left has 1881 on the stonework & was or became the Jarrow Masonic Hall.

So many children with no shoes.

When I started work for the council in 1975 I spent six weeks in the corner room there of the Town Hall. It was the Education Department and I only remember doing something to do with school bus passes.
