I saw that photo earlier today and thought it a very thought provoking photo. In that who were they? Maybe a class ?

The lady wearing specs, very well dressed etc.

I did not reply about it as it appears that comments about the photos that you post are not welcome in certain quarters.

See your photo posted on the 12th and comments below it.

Also The photos modified by Michael Arbon using AI seem to be frowned on as well as my comments about what the photos content are about type of thing.

Anyway I had to go out to pick up some gear and forgot about it as very disappointed with comments made by 4 board members.. Sherlock Holmes was mentioned by one. Sad really.!

I have to say that the photo of Green Street is quite fantastic possibly the most intriguing one that you have posted.

Each of us is different and look at things in different ways but photos are a story and it’s up to the individual to look at it to suit themselves.

I like looking at maps of any age and compare with more up to date ones and now with Google Maps, Don’t know why I like doing that, just do, maybe it because of Scouting days.

Photographs particularly OLD ones intrigue me don’t know why they just do.

I am not very happy reading those complaints about us from the very man who criticised our Forum months & months ago, saying this Forum is deteriorating and then he disappeared.
Well, the board hasnt changed and is still as good as ever so why has he came back to start complaining ?????????????????

I have used various programs to enhance the clarity of old photos. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, it sometimes reveals previously unseen features on the photo. If you don't like the photographs simply don't open the subject, but I enjoy looking at photos of days gone by whether they've been enhanced or not.

Yes I have a very inquiring mind and sometimes go very deep into things.

Why am I like that. Upbringing, job or jobs etc.

It probably started with a chap called Bob Rowntree who lived in 22 Crawley Ave. when I was growing up.

Bob built model aircraft and boats This was around 1947 to 1953ish. Built to his designs as I remember.

He built a big model aircraft with about a 6 foot wingspan and I think radio controlled, bright Red as I remember.

He would fly them occasionally in the fields where the council houses were build in later years. I think he was just trying to them out before going to a model aircraft flying club meet.

Through him I got into modelling, buying kits from the shop in Blenheim St.. then along came something like Airfix kits which you assembled and then painted. You had to have an eye for detail to do a good job.

All this led me to read and understand drawings etc. and I think that because of that my father was able to get me an apprenticeship in Hebburn Palmers drawing office.

Due to my apprenticeship and about 12 years at college and lectures it broadend my knowledge etc.

However when I moved down to Harrogate my work knowledge type thing widen massively because I could adapt to changes like computers coming in and be able to adapt our office practices and speed them up.

One thing led to another and I as a second string took on a contract claim. Our parent company was facing a £5-6 M claim and I was put in the position of expert witness GULP. Me a wee Geordie!

I had three visits to Chambers in London to face a QC and my director after the first visit said how did you manage that Allan.

I cannot remember my reply but it wasn’t I can bull shit with the best of them. I just knew my stuff that’s all.

In the end our parent company had to shell out £550,000 and I was given money for a two week family holiday all.

My input was only part of it but enough to make crack in their claim.

Ann used to say to me what are you reading now? It could be a manual, a wiring diagram, just technical stuff. When I started Family History research I lost being able to take account of time.

I apologise for my words way back ( was it Easter) when and you are still harping on about it months later.

The forum deteriorated in my view by people posting stuff mainly of a political nature but carrying it a bit far at times, day after day etc.

A few weeks ago some others said the same or similar thing and there has a bit of a change for the better and hope it remains so.

I have not come back and complained except where Michael Arbon’s post of AI photos and my comments on photos questioned by some people. Both our posts are informative and could expand the mind.

I did not disappear from the board just didn’t post anything just saved my breath and kept out of the bile that was going on.

We disappeared up into the Wilds of Northumberland for some weeks for me to try to recover, see below, the Sea air great stuff.

In any case I now know that I was rather ill from December through to early or mid August which explains a lot of my actions over that period. However I will never find out what was wrong, it’s gone thank goodness hopefully will not come back.

I will say no more Allan c.

Do you never think , this is Norman’s site, he pays for it. You are rude and often boring . I am interested in politics, just as you are interested in listening and reading about yourself. I wonder if one of your supporters was thinking you might have been looking for roundabouts to paint when you were not posting.
