End of the week Header at Tyne Dock

Most older regulars will remember this view taken of the first of 4 arches on the way to Jarrow. They were constructed to carry railway lines for transporting goods, coal, iron ore in and out of the Docks in the 1800s.

Wonderful memories going through those arches knowing we were off to the beach with our egg sandwichs, happy days

Carol, I have exactly the same memory. We used to say when we reached the arches “ we are nearly there”. Always excited to go to South Shields beach. Happy days.
