For the Motorbike Lads what’s the model of this Norton

Photo taken in about 1950.

My wife Ann and her mother alongside. Charlie’s Norton.

Charlie had motorbikes to get to work on the North British Railway up in Scotland. Probably started with them not long after WW1 finished.

He had bikes until around 1955 ish then cars.

I’ve looked on the net but no luck.

I don't know which one came first - - - the commando or dominator.

The Dominator was introduced in 1949 and the Commando was introduced in 1967.

There is another better photo of that bike taken from the NS front.

I think Charlie changed over to cars after his arm was caught on a drilling machine and injured his arm, he worked in Reyrolle’s Drillers and Grinders shop.

As a result of his injury he became a clerk and worked night shifts as better money. That’s when I met Ann and remember him going off to work in the evening.

I have a photo of him and workmates taken in that shop so maybe should post it. Someone father etc. could be on it.
