Has Norway sent a tree to our central station this year? If so, anyone got a photo?
Christmas Tree

Yes, Newcastle upon Tyne has received a Christmas tree from its twin city, Bergen, Norway , continuing a long-standing tradition of friendship and gratitude dating back to the Second World War. However, the tradition has evolved: since 2023, Newcastle uses a living Christmas tree in the grounds of St Thomas' Church (next to the Civic Centre) as part of a shared commitment to sustainability and cutting carbon emissions. Instead of transporting a real, cut tree, the Mayor of Bergen now gifts a special Christmas bauble for the existing tree. The 2024 tree lighting ceremony took place on Thursday, November 28, with the Lord Mayor of Newcastle and the Mayor of Bergen in attendance.
