An old postcard photo. The pilot cutter is the Alert built in 1949 at Robson's, South Shields and sold September 1961.
The vessel landing the pilot is the Johan Jeansson of Kalmarsund Steamship Co., Kalmar, Sweden. She was built in 1930 by Helsingborgs Varfs, Helsingborg. In 1960 she became Johan for Oy Johanship Ab, Vasa and from 1963 was used as a grain storage barge.
She was broken up in Hamina, Finland in 1985.
