More idiotic nonsense from the Government!!!

This ‘dew’ has that maniac Ed Miliband’s mucky paws all over it - apparently the Government want to build houses/housing estates where there will be no room to park cars???

Firstly, who will buy houses if you can’t park a car, will any builder be daft enough to build such houses - maybe not but hey if these houses don’t sell maybe they could be purchased to house migrants or civil servants who can then work from home - simples!!!

Whatever next?

In the late 50's and early 60's no council estates had garages attached to houses, a few were built in a block for tenants to rent

That was then Carol not so many cars around and a reasonably good transport system, where I live there are hardly any buses, public transport isn’t good at all, a car is a necessity.

Yes I agree with that but very few new builds have garagess, houses in the region of £400.000 only have off road parking

Depends where you live, Carol. A new estate near me All have off-road parking, AND garages, but no were near £400K price tag, but then that's Scotland; more bang for your buck, as they say!

And in my part of Derbyshire newbuilds routinely have a garage. Even the smallest of Social Housing has an off road, front of house, designated parking spot. It is an essential !!!
Clearly the brains behind this nonsense live in inner London neighbourhoods where many big terraced houses costing several millions in places like Knightsbridge, Fulham etc only have on street parking.
They are unaware that most of the country north of Watford doesn't have the Tfl bus. Tube and rail system that they take for granted.
But don't worry....they will protect "Working People"

The brains behind this crazy scheme probably have chauffeur driven government vehicles so they don’t have to worry about parking or if there is any public transport for the rest of us.
