Calling me home
Posted by John White on 21/12/2025, 8:57 pm
When I was a boy I would play on the shore Where the river flowed Down to the sea Watch the ships passing by Hear the harsh seagulls cry Wondering what I would be
Calling me home, calling me home I hear sounds and pictures I see Time to come home, time to go home Time to go home for my tea
Now I’ve travelled around All the sights that I’ve seen They mean nothing to me But I still shed a tear When in my mind I can hear Those voice, so warm and so clear
Calling me home, calling me home No matter where I may be Calling me home, calling me home Time to go home for my tea

Brilliant John! It brings back memories of a childhood. Thank you.
