Dance Bands for Lance L and those into musical history

Not surprising given my Dad's short life with his Bands and Orchestras, but love of the Dance Band has stuck with me.
I will be surprised if you haven't seen this site Lance but if not http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Dancebands/index.htm
For me it charts the way that Band Music morphed over the years into the magnificence of Count Basie and the Duke!!

I remember dancing to Joe Loss dance band at the Hammersmith Palais in London in 1959, very popular venue.

Harry Roy,Jack Hylton, Edmundo Ross, Cyril Stapleton... all great bands!
