A 7 min film of a 1959 Wedding at St Pauls Church

Thomas Lawson filmed this 'Green-Maughan' wedding at St Pauls Church Jarrow in 1959. Its just under 8mins long but shows nice glimpses of the Church & the surrounds all those years ago.
Thanks to North East Film Archives for allowing us to view some of their collection.

Loved watching it again. The lovely bride and groom , all the guests and Mrs Taylor the photographers wife making sure the photos would be perfect. I wonder if the bride and groom are still enjoying life. St Paul’s Church setting is beautiful. Thank you Norman.

Lovely wedding níce to watch.The film footage shows the times Baptisms three thirty so now I know.l was Baptised there born on the second Baptised on the seventeenth by A M Newman by my certificate. Only two weeks after birth seems early maybe that is what happened.Had the same photographer in 1965 for my wedding where the couple had a windy day we had light snow went to the photographers house for photos it was November .A lovely church. .

My in laws. Harry and peggy moved to Devon in late 70s. Harry died aged 51. peggy stayed in Devon with 2 of her 3 daughters. other daughter lives in Jarrow.

Sorry to hear that Harry died so young Doug.Life is cruel.
