Care in hospital corridors.

As we know there is supposed to be such a crises in the the hospitals ie bed blocking. Why don't the government open the portable wards that they were going to use 6 years during covid?

They were never used and dismantled by the last government about 12 months after the covid outbreak.

And I believe 'Corridor Care' or some similar description, is a term used now in hospitals. Is this true?

If that’s the case Brian, why doesn’t the government now rebuild them if it’s as bad as we are seeing on the news.

There would be no available staff for them.

The staffing in the NHS has been very bad over the last 10-15 years so where was the last government going to get the staff to run portable wards 5-6 years ago during the lockdowns.

We also had a sizeable reduction of around 20% in hospital beds from around 2000. This was due to a lot of surgeries becoming same day in and out hence the reduction. Whether you thinks this was foolhardy or not, governments no matter what particular persuasion see into the future.
