Sunday's Header looking up Northumberland St in the 1920s

A view we are all familiar with after getting off the Bus in Worswick St, then onto Northumberland St. In those days this street was also the A1 road that linked London with Edinburgh. Thankfully it hasnt been the A1 for many years.
On the left can be see a shop called Lowe & Moorhouse and further up is Fenwicks.

Behind the policeman could have been a tram inspector with the long stick connected the tram wires to the connector.A interesting photo thank you Norman.

Indeed, Liz. Lots of pedestrians, walking about.

As to the cars, absolute classics, whatever they are!

Love the one in the foreground, seems like the driver is chatting to the cop, as they turn!!
