I have no wish to “make you mine”
For that implies possession
And would never want to “own you”
That savours of obsession
True love is not a bargain made
As in some cold transaction
To benefit both parties
Guaranteeing satisfaction
So, if you say yes to me
United we will equals be
And live in loving harmony
