Benefits-shocking and getting worse

Telegraph today.
In 23/4 192,000 households received more than £40k (non taxable) in benefits. The average workers salary was £39k before tax.
A breathtaking 7000 got more than £60k.
By now it will almost certainly be more. This must stop.

Starmer is too weak to stand up to his back benches whilst this is the case Labour will never cut benefits.

Listening to Robert Jenrick today it seems that Reform, if voted into power, will start to cut welfare benefits, I don’t mind the people who really need assistance receiving help but, people who have decided life is nice and cosy receiving benefits should have this rug well and truly pulled from under them.

Labour still have plenty of time left in Power to carry on the job of completely ruining the country it will take time to restore things back to order, have we OAP’s got that time, I sincerely hope so.

As soon as benefit cuts are mentioned, a whole bunch of people in wheelchairs or whatever get into a panic, and on the news.

I can understand them being defensive, but we need to target those high-earning idle rich lazy buggers!

Can't recall the figures mentioned yesterday, but the benefit bill is something like FIVE times higher than the Defence budget...

So YES, we need to cut the benefit bill, and spend it on Defence.

To me, that's a "no-brainer".

Well.... I have just short of 82 years under my belt and I am arranging to hang on for another 18 so that I can see the results of the next election and the sorting out that must follow.

In Australia the mere mention of "'Cutting Benefits"" is a surefire election loser for the party that says it will do that.

As long as the Country has a Socialist Government in office handing out money to all and sundry without checks and balances it will stay in control, at least until it does something so fundamentally stupid that the people say ""ENOUGH"" !!

Unfortunately, the U.K. does not have ""Compulsory Voting Registration"" for every Citizen over 18 years of age, and therefore not every person eligible will attend a polling booth, those in power will play the odds and hold elections when the ""Numbers feel right""

Steve, that is so true, unfortunately in the UK we are fast running short of the funds to pay for benefits, keep migrants in a comfortable style, pay salaries to far too many Civil Servants who forget that they are not money earners but takers, I could go on but I won’t bore you further.

Starmer tried to block some Local Elections, I think many thought if he got away with that he would try to block the General Election in 2029, luckily it has been pointed out to him he can’t stop the Local Elections so hopefully the message will have got through he can’t stop a GE, it just can’t come soon enough for some of us.
