One day in the future

Because this Forum looks as if its dying off (with post that are days old) I thought I'd say this. BUT dont worry because I enjoy running it and intend to 'keep on going' for aslong as I can.

One day in the future when this Forum is gone, people might ask 'Whatever happened to Norman Dunn's Forum?
If I was still around & heard that question I would say 'Did you ever go on my board or take part in it?
I think the reply would be 'Oh we are the younger generation & we preferred 'Face Book'.

Funny but I was thinking the same myself with the lack of contribulaters over the past week.

This is a fantastic site and I for one don’t want to lose it, can I please ask for readers to contribute if you don’t want to lose it. Norman and his team do a fantastic job with great pictures and history lessons, where else can you get so much information ?

Norman, your efforts are much appreciated. Since I discovered this site I came across 2 photos of my Dad that I’d never seen before so can’t thank you enough.

Thanks for the nice support from all you regulars but I didnt post that 'prediction' for that purpose because I already know how you all appreciate this Forum.

For me Quality of posts and posters beats Quantity.
Yes the number of posts is down but there have been posts nearly every day in the last week.
I suspect part of the reason is that most of us have vented our spleen at the actions of the current Government and the complete woke nonsense going on around us and are taking a well earned rest from further doing so.
So don't be gloomy Norman. And comparisons to Facebook shouldn't be made.
Facebook people collect "friends" like a shelf collects dust. You have collected a small group of opinions with other occasional posters.

Norman have seen photos that I would never have seen from my school days to past relatives even of the street where I was born .You even sent me a close up of the houses a lot more I could mention .So I thank you for all not many people get the chance to see there past you are doing a great thing with the site best wishes to you .Maria.

Norman this site means a lot to many of us. Its part of my everyday routine. What you say is so true. I feel churches going down the drain is typical of the youth of today. I fail to understand why young people want to get married in a church but cannot be bothered too attend one. This site is important so keep it going Norman. We are behind you !

Agree with everything that has been said, so much information gleaned from this Forum, photos that many of us had never seen.

Not everyone has the same opinion but we don’t fall out over it, we usually agree to disagree, anyway a one sided point of view is boring, so come on everyone try to post something at least once a week - you know you can do it!!

I love checking in with this site Norman. The photos and local history are so interesting. I hope you’ll continue with it for a long time. If I do find anything I think anyone would be interested in I’ll share. You’ve helped me a lot over the years.

I thought I had posted this yesterday but when I looked I hadn't!

I think like all web sites and forums, the activity on here probably waxes and wanes over time, depending on a number of factors. I still come and read it every day even if I don't post.

If I was to stick my neck out, I would have to say that I did prefer it in the days when party politics were off the table for discussion, as that kept the focus firmly on Hebburn-related matters. Politics are interesting, but there are plenty of places where we can read about that - not so many where we can read about Hebburn!

Anyway, if I haven't said it already, thank you Norman for everything you do to keep this site up and running!

I think some of the board miss Alan Campbell,his posts generated discussion, i think before he was banned from posting it became personal and that turned some board members of posting.

This Forum is mainly viewed by the older generation and sadly that means many of my old regulars are no longer with us. Its as simple as that.
