Old Mc Donald's lost the plot!

Called into the drive through here in Liverpool to get a double cheese burger. The young lass repeated 5 times "what do you want" so i repeated in my best English! In the end I demanded someone who could understand me. 3 mins later the same lass tried to change her dialect. So in my best scouse I blasted out " gis a double cheeseburger luv"! She sharp understood that!!! Just shows, you cant the staff these days!!!

What annoys me is making a phone call and being told ‘Your call is important’ to us but only getting recorded announcements .

You reminded me of talking to Americans and trying to tell them my name. They thought I was saying Jockey 😂 I really did have to say it the way they would say it.
My husband asked which road to Maryland at a service station. They just couldn’t understand him! It wasn’t until he remembered how they pronounced it that they did.
The amount of American tv and film we’re exposed to helps I guess, but really 😄

If you ever come to 'scouse land' liverpool just smile and and say " yorl orlight luv"?. If ya dont they'll ask you what part of Scotland you are from ! I cant get used to it!

Found the same, when I was an eight year old bairn, moved from Hebburn to Rotherham in South Yorks...

Broad Geordie, as you can imagine (they all sounded "posh") and constantly asked "Are you from Scotland?" Imagine my reply... NO..."Oh, from Wales, then"

"Am from Hebburn!" (Still in a geordie accent)..

I just couldn't understand why they couldn't understand what I was saying...although I could understand what THEY were saying....

Got me into a LOT of fights...as I thought they were just taking the mick...asking to "say that again.." repeatedly!!!
